The public is often hounded by all kinds of outlets and merchants offering jewelry and related items through promotions and ads claming discounts so unbelievalbe that you should question whether they are true.
-Was the merchandise sold at the regular price?
-If so for how long?
-Was the retail price purposely raised and then lowered to make the public think they are saving money?
When buying jewelry always look for the karat mark: 14K or 18K
Make sure the karat mark appears along with the manufacture's trademark on the clasp. Sometimes, if only the clasp is marked 14K, the chain may not be real gold.
Anything less than 10K gold cannot be legally marked or sold as real gold.
To avoid counterfiet scams:
-Be wary of extremely low-priced items
-Look for correct spelling of brand names and Karat gold mark
-Ask for a warranty
-Check with you local jeweler
